Hi all,
I just checked the Vectis auction of January 29th, and I found this one in their listing:

Whow!! Probably the only one in existence, or has anybody ever seen one before?

A holy grail for sale......
Re: A holy grail for sale......
Looks like the same green used for the Sydney issue of the #5 bus!
Re: A holy grail for sale......
I'm not at all sure that this is the same shade as the pale green version which forms the Stannard code 1. It looks too dark to me.
Re: A holy grail for sale......
IIRC, it should be the same color as the 1B road roller and the auction picture looks about the right color to me. Can't comment on the green #5 as I've only seen photos of one.
I the brace behind the cab didn't come right away but it did come very quickly once normal production began. I had a red 20a with gold trim and no brace.

It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

Thanks for the info Kay,most appreciated.
Perhaps members on here can help determine & explain why these 2x specimens differ in color/shades.I had this twin comparison with the bus saved from an independent site but cant remember from which site. One of the Vectis pics was tweaked by me (correct word??).
Thanks in advance.

As I said, my recollection of Philip Bowdidge's example is that it was a much paler green than either of the models shown above.

If you look at Numi's pics the dark green one in the lower photograph does not have the planking in the side of the load bed as seen in the upper two pics?. A pre pro perhaps.

Just wondering if it could be an optical illusion, perhaps a combination of thickly-applied paint and the lighting?
