How nice to see some pre-Hot Wheels items from Mattel. We forget they were such a big toy company in their own right, happily jogging along making Children's toys, puzzles, board games etc, etc, until one Day, a member of the engineering department noticed how slow the model cars were going when pushed by the office staff Children, those model cars were "Matchbox", need I say more...!

Anyway, we all more or less know what happened over the next few Years after that toy service station above went on sale.

Maybe "Aussieandy" would like to click on the link below and have a read about some re-sizing and editing of pictures for the forum.

Nice set from the 60´s!
They made 2 different sets, one was your Service Station Set and i also have a building/constrution set with
3 Husky construction trucks.

The red Jaguar Mark X was made only for this set in that red colour as a -non fire chief- civilian version,
both 1st and 2nd version/size! Think this is the reason why we cant find the red civilian version
on Husky card, only loose examples. And one guy from this forum stated, that he bought these red ones loose
from trays in chainstores in that period, so i think they sold the overproduction in that way. Only speculation...
