Hi all,
My name is Thomas and I am a student at Columbia University in New York City. I got into collecting matchbox cars as a young child when my father and uncle both gave me their childhood collections (from the mid and late sixties). I caught the bug! Over the last two years, I've been slowly working to assemble a complete collection of "A" series Moko models in near mint condition with "A" and "B" type boxes. I'm very close to my goal! I finished my "A" box collection about a year ago and am only a handful of models away from finishing my "B" box collection. Recently I've been working on Major and Accessory packs as well, which has been a lot of fun.
I really enjoy this hobby because of the relative affordability of most of these models, and the ability for people to still find good bargains if they look hard enough. To me, the fun is in the search. In addition, in a fast paced and often violent world, its nice to have a tangible reminder of a simpler time.
I've been a lurker for awhile here and can't wait to post more often now!
Happy new year to all! -Thomas
