The only addition I can share George, above and beyond the handsome examples that you and Mike & Nico have shared would be this late metallic green 31C that I was fortunate to obtain from Bob Willis a couple of years back.

And I recently picked up this one - has defective paint application on the roof - uneven, with a small area that appears to have not dried correctly. I don't see any evidence of a repaint.

Recently added this one with the early baseplate on a later colour body/baseplate, I assume they were using up old bases. Also not noted in stannard but in Nicks listings code 9. J

That's a really interesting find. I agree that it must have been a stock of old bases, because the strengthened tow hook definitely appeared on the yellow-bodied station wagons with the crimson base. It's easy to see why this modification was made - this really is fragile.

I've often wondered why the body was made with the wide gap in the rear bumper around the hook. It's almost as though the body was originally designed for the subsequent modified hook. Or is there an unrecorded really early body with a narrower gap?
