Re: Interesting Corgi Factory Film - Wales 1960
We had a thread for these types of films before somewhere in the 'Lounge', maybe Hugh can find it and move these few here to that location.
The Corgi one shown here by "Johnboy" is a perfect example of toy car production methods during the 1950's and early 1960's and applies with only minor changes to all the mainstream British companies making toy cars.
It also shows how 'Factory Oops' are easily created as so much work is hands-on, look at the rivet pressing machine as the model on a turntable is spun round for the machine to catch the base rivets at both ends of the model, see how much 'leaway' there is, allowing for miss-hit rivets!
Look at how quickly the Woman operator puts the clear glazing and vac-form seat components into the body, how many of those has she put in back to front...!
Great stuff and recommended viewing.

It's so interesting to see the machinery in more detail. The health and safety brigade today would have a field day though with the way the machinery is used, handling techniques, the painting process, etc.
