28a Bedford Compressor Truck, issued 1956, length 47mm, box type B.
28b Thames Trader Compressor Truck,, issued 1959, length 59mm, box types B-C and D.
28c Jaguar MK; 10, issued 1964, length 74mm, box type E.
28d Mack Dump Truck, issued 1968, length 68mm, box types E and F.
On the 28a variation page it lists this variation between the two tanks but not on the 28b variation page
The two shades of Yellow.
The Dark and Light colours of Metalic Brown.
The painted and the unpainted engines of the 28c Jaguar MK 10 model.

Very nice models indeed George. You have a photo on the 28b page showing the brace between the tanks on the 28b, but I think Nick needs more info on what models have this variation. I only have a few 28b's, but I will check them just in case.

Hello John, you have more 28b models to check than me as I only have these two, they are code six on Nicks variation page but then one has that pillar between the tanks, it seems strange that Stannards lists this variation on the 28a model but not on the 28b model.

whilst moving some models about I noticed three different silver trim details
one has the grill only and has a painted engine the other two have unpainted engines with one having a silver number plate and the other black
I always thought these had lights grills and bumpers detailed or am I being unobservant yet again

The 28a is one of the castings that can be found with "flat" body paint. Here is a side-by-side comparison of glossy and flat.
