Interesting #57 Chevrolet Impala

Recently added this one to the collection mainly because of the 9x20 tread GPW which are fairly hard to find, thought the model would be a repaint.
But the model itself is very interesting and I cannot quite make up my mind if it is just a repaint, it also has the early clear window.
Cannot find any other casting differences and the base looks like it has never been painted. Also the base has flashing and seems very rough, but that maybe because I have never seen an unpainted base on one of these. Shame the paint loss is so bad but I will try and see if the paint(what remains of it ) matches with any other models.
Any thoughts or questions would be much appreciated. J

1C is about the best colour match, just not enough paint for a definite compare.J

Looks a close colour match Jason. Is the base loose at all?

Hi Alex, base is not loose at all. The rivets do not look normal so maybe the base was loose or maybe it has been
Taken off at some time. Amazing considering the paint damage that the tow hook is intact, roof rivet is hardly
Flared making the roof plastics loose, perhaps it was a Friday special.J

A very interesting model discovery.
I think a too much played, pre-model.
Hugh (Idris) certainly knows the answer.

You flatter me, Mike! (Thank you - much appreciated! :D )

is there any evidence of trim on the front, Jason? also, does the paint inside the bodyshell show any evidence of spraying?

The wheels look to be in quite good condition, what's the pinkish colour next to the tow hitch on the photo taken from the back?

Hugh the model has no evidence of trim at all, you can see paint to some sides and the inside of the roof where the rivet is.Looking like it has been sprayed.

I think the whole roof was green.
See at the window post.
