27c Cadillac Sixty Special GPW Crimson base unlisted

Here is my example of a 27c Cadillac Sixty Special GPW Crimson base plate (Maroon or red in some guides ) listed by M.J Stannard as code10 and Houghton code 13 but currently not listed in Nicks variation table.

It is the one on the left.

I have placed it alongside a gpw black base version with a similar body colour and to the far right a similar crimson base plate colour but with spw and a different body colour.

This side on view also nicely shows off the tinted and clear windows.

This 27c was a favourite as a kid and my played with example did many a mile with a 23c hitched on.

Hi Yellowfoden.
You got me a bit confused when you said I had missed it but Stannard listed it as his code 10.
If Stannard listed it then it should be on my site. The Stannard code 10 is for a metallic lilac Cadillac, Yours is either silver grey or possibly metallic brown so it is not a Stannard code 10,

The model in the center of the pic is silver grey with a black base and gpw. Neither my guide or Stannard's has this one listed either.
Could you please photograph them outside in the daylight without flash because the flash will show them in a false colour.
It looks like you have two unlisted models, well done!.

Thank you Zbret for showing your 27c, sorry for delay in my reply.

The crimson (or maroon) base with gpw I do not recall seeing on the forum apart you’re your example Zbret either in casting shows or elsewhere on line.

It would be interesting to know if anyone else has a crimson or maroon or red base with gpw in any body colour that they can perhaps show a photo of please.

Thanks Nick,

Sorry for any confusion Nick, I should have worded my first paragraph a bit better as did not mean to infer that mine was a Stannard code 10

My reference to Stannard code 10 was to focus on the crimson base plate (or maroon) GPW combination which currently is not in your listing irrespective of the body colour.

Zbret has the same base wheel combination as mine but I am not sure about the body colour given his one is played with and the others have spent most of their time in the boxes.

You do make reference to crimson base plate and gpw combination in your description and also in the valuation price guide but not in the variation table.

I did have a question mark against body colour of this and the gpw black base model but given the varying opinions on colour I thought I would at least show the crimson base gpw combination.

It may be of interest to know the original photos were taken in daylight without flash but under a 6 metre high open sided patio and the light mark that appears to look like flash is a little reflection from the skylight sheeting.

I hope to borrow a different brand camera over the Christmas break so will take some other photos and see if there is a difference.
