Re: No.16B
Hello Dave this box is for #16a, the 16b box still eludes me.

Re: No.16B
That is what I thought. I saw this on ebay...but I was thinking maybe they shipped some of them in the 16A box, just wanted another opinion on this. I still need the B-type box for my 16B as well.kerbside wrote:Hello Dave this box is for #16a, the 16b box still eludes me.

According to Pat's box site, 16b came only in B boxes showing the 4 axle trailer. Just to add to the fun, there are two different illustrations on the 16b B-type boxes! I have the earlier "short model" B4 box for 16b, but it is in poor condition. It came with an orange/BPW model, rather than the early tan/GPW version.gpwcollector wrote:That is what I thought. I can't believe I have something George doesn't! He has such a comprehensive collection.
Will try to get a photo soon if you like...
Cheers,

Hello Gavin, I might have a nice collection but there are plenty of boxes I need. Because when I started collecting the 1-75 models I was just so glad to get the model I did not worry about the boxes they came in at the time. then I realized that these were part of the collecting bug.
At the start I wanted so many models and money then was a big factor, and unboxed models were so much cheaper than boxed ones.
That's true even today as there seems to be more unboxed models than boxed ones, on the market and some of these empty boxes bring a big price.

George, I'm on exactly the same tangent as you my friend!kerbside wrote:Hello Gavin, I might have a nice collection but there are plenty of boxes I need. I'm off to Melbourne in a couple of weeks hoping to find a couple of toys while I'm there - I've got a couple of places lined up to visit, but the Aussie dollar is so strong compared to the NZ Lira, I might be a bit limited in what I can afford.
One day I'll double the travelling time and make the extra 4 hours to get across to Perth (not as cheap to get to unfortunately as no direct flights ex Welliwood) - if I do, we'll meet for a lager I hope!
Cheers,
Gavin

Re: No.16B
I bet they shipped them in the older boxes too. My 16b is in the box shown at the top of this thread, and the model came out of a one owner collection that had been stored for decades.
