Hello everyone.
I'm a tragic Corgi collector from Sydney and I stumbled on this forum recently.
Been on a few other forums where I've enjoyed sharing photos of my Corgi finds and thought it might be fun to join here also.
Here's one set that arrived the other day.
Daktari Gift Set 7 in the earlier style box.
Now, how do I load photos...
I'll try "upload attachment" for now.

I already had the later Whizzwheels version.

And for fun, the 1998 release.

I have vague memories of the show which I didnt like as a child.Great packaging and that early issue box is the best thing about that TV show............I wonder what colour the real Land Rover on the show was? Stripes are the same as used on the white Lions of Longleat set which I have

Hello "CCE" we have been in touch with each other over on 'Planet Diecast', you know me as "Rollerman" and I would like to give you a very big welcome to Nick Jone's forum. A number of your collector friends are also posting over here, you may be familiar with some of the names as you look around the different threads.
We also have a 'Guess the Model' feature but it has gone a bit quiet at the moment, so go and look for it in the 'Lounge' and resurrect it for us, you were very good on the other site...
Posting pictures here is actually easier than on 'PD' by posting directly from your computer to the forum or using an on-line image hosting site such as 'Photobucket'.
As I do on 'PD', I will look forward to your postings and pictures.
GHOSTHUNTER.

I believe on the actual TV show, the vehicle that wore the stripes was a Jeep Gladiator pick-up
and the Land Rovers that appeared on the show were generally drab greens or beige's

I have a few more sets.

As for Daktari, I also vaguely remember the show but I managed to find my set of Daktari playing cards.

It does seem that the show used a series of drab Jeeps and Landrovers as well as the white striped Gladiator.

Now where is that quizz....

Interesting to see the real Daktari Jeep was white - Corgi must have planned from the start to make the Zebra stripes model on 2 base colours and both had long lives, coming with spun hubs, diecast hubs and Whizzwheels

Me to in Sydney so welcome. Sadly only set I have is the Pinder circus set that I got for the kids many years ago and now sits in a plastic bag on top of a display cupboard somewhere. Just doesn't fit in with the Matchbox models but a nice set none the less.
