I was checking my 46b Pickford's lorries today and comparing them against Nick's listings when I noted a possible new unlisted variation. I outlined the differences by PM to Nick and now have photos to show the differences.

I believe this variation falls between iss 19 and 20 as on the NJ list as:
a) the model has 9x36 Black Plastic Wheels as shown in the following Photo 1, and
b) the model has trim applied to grille, front bumper and headlights as shown in Photo 2.
In both photos the new variation is shown in comparison with another model that is issue 20 according to Nick's list. I apologise for the quality of the photos - I only have a 3MP camera and will endeavor to get better photos later.

I have the version with 10X 36 BPW with masked headlight paint also that Mike Stannard had missed in his listings, so Please check your wheel diameter carefully on this one. I am off to work right now so cannot scout Nick's listings until later after 2 parties I must attend, if I am still standing after going to both after work.......kwakers

Thanks Kwakers... I'll add that into my Stannard's so I don't forget it exists....

I've rechecked all my green Pickford's Vans today and noted the size of the wheels (as measured by digital calipers) - I seem to have:
2 x 46-b-11 (Stannard) 46-b-13 (Nick) but it took a good scrutiny with a loupe to convince me I hadn't found ANOTHER trim variation - one appeared to have only the grille mask sprayed - but the loupe showed the barest of silver spray on the left headlight and faint overspray beneath the bumper on the same side so I have deemed it a negative variation as the result of a faulty mask spraying operation that left the bumper and one headlight without any silver spray. These have grey plastic 9x20 wheels.
4 x 46-b-18 (Stannard) 46-b-20 (Nick) - trim to grille and bumper, black plastic 9 x 36 wheels
1 x 46-b-?? not listed by either Stannard or Nick) - trim to grille, headlights and front bumper, black plastic 9 x36 wheels.
I have managed to get two better (clearer) photos of the front and wheels and I've reduced them to 480 wide to better fit the forum format.

These are all the GREEN 46-bs I've located so far in my search for my MB 1-75 buried, as they are, with Dinky, Corgi and other models, in over 300 boxes of toys in storage.

Excellent work toysnz, Thanks for your verifying your new variation with digital calipers, they are available to us here in the U.S. for $10 at all Harbor Freight stores. If another Forum member can now show us your version, when that Pickford model is updated, that variation will be added to Nick's (almost complete??.....LOL) listings. I can also now add your 9X36 BPW version with mask sprayed headlights into my Stannard's as a new variation to scout for. Apparently the early design spray mask with painted headlights stayed in limited use right up through till the end of this Pickford Van's production. I am sure I have checked for your 9X36 version in our spares, but I may recheck those wheel diameters now just to be sure on that added headlight trim.
It sounds like you have a very happy job ahead of you checking for buried treasure 'out of storage'. Nick's site has provided me with answers to Lesney questions I have been asking since 1964, so this is the place to be, and our Great Forum members are the resource that no printed Guide will ever replace. :D :D Cheers! kwakers

I wish they were available here at that price! My Dad bought me these as a birthday present a few years ago and they cost him over $60 at the time.

I don't trust those digital ones, I prefer the old "analog" type myself (same for micrometers and volt/amp meters). I do prefer the computer to a slide rule. I wonder if anyone under 50 can even knows how to use a slide rule anymore?
