Hello Matchbox Fans,

I recently bought a MB SF ISO GRIFO from a French Ebay-seller, but I haven't received it yet. Pictures are from the seller... But I'm starting to think I've been fooled... Please, don't hesitate to give your opinion... See pics below...

(P.S.: It's nice to be back again with you on the forum after a couple of weeks that were a little bit difficult)

Cheers

David

Hi David,
From the pictures you have shown it looks very good, but you need better rear rivet pictures to confirm .
Pictures make it look very pale but photographs are so unpredictable, why do you think you have been fooled?
All the best and good luck.
Jason

pictures could be better especially the base shot check Christians site http://www.mboxcommunity.com/cfalkens/M ... -LS14a.htm
he shows a lemon example with dot dash wheels and white interior
the rivet looks as if its ok but hard to tell in the sellers picture
good luck

Hi Jason,
First, because, as you said, the color looks very very pale.
Second, because of the rarity of the model : it's seems very unlikely that such a scarce model comes out almost from nowhere, especially in France. Usually these very HTF models are put up for auction by professional sellers. The girl who sold it to me said that the model was given to her as a present years ago (together with other models) : a pre pro like this...in France...many years ago... I just don't think it can be possible...
Any way, as soon as I receive the model, I'll post some pics. I should receive it by the end of the week...
Regards.
David

I agree. The colour is very pale. In addition, the paint looks semi-matt. However, that could be a good thing since a significant proportion of SF transitionals suffer from tacky paint which is often paired with a dulling of the finish.

Need a closer shot of the rivit although the odd paint shadow on it isnt typical Lesney! The colour could be left over from making cream RW 62 Cougars!

The rivet in the image certainly looks ok. Could be a very rare find, i hope you are happy with it in the hand. Good luck!

Colour looks to pale to me. The only yellow ISO I've seen looks the same colour as MB 27 Mercedes.
It isn't an early colour trial as the wheel are wide so it's not the one on front of the motorway box. I could have been intended for the 1971 re - colours I suppose.
