please...information about the 'marketplace'

Post by jaskelrod »

Hello.
I have never used the VBD marketplace before.
can someone explain to me how exchange works here in the 'marketplace.'
I have some high-end models I'd rather post here than on e.bay. (trying to side-step their bounty). Does someone here on the forum act as a clearinghouse for exchanges, or is it a 'trust-based' system. I'm fine with either.
Perhaps there is a thread somewhere that explains how the marketplace works.
Thank you,
Jason (jaskelrod)

It's trust based. The regular posters on the Forum know each other well enough, either in person or through repeated on-line contact, to trust each other 100%. The problem comes with those who have not got so many posts to their name. Almost all of these will be genuine collectors, but it is always possible that there is a Jasmine or a Christine hiding amongst them.
Payment in advance is certainly one option. However, in the event of an exchange, if you are unsure about the other party, you can always see if anyone here will vouch for them. If not, simply ask them to send their model(s) first. After all, since they know that they can trust you, so it shouldn't be an issue.
