I recalled Mick and Jason's light blue Iso's recently and I won this one the other day (nearest the camera), it came boxed and it was cheap, not sure why. Anyway, it's distinctly lighter than my other "lighter" one. Does anyone know if there were intentional changes to the light colour or is it one of those subtle changes that happens sometimes?

Perhaps this lightest shade is very early production because it matches E box art with subsequesnt batches getting darker........

Nice picture John, as Mick has said i think they do get darker . I do like this model a lot and the blue in mint condition is stunning.

Jason RW or SF the Grifo has to be one of my all time favourite models and those two look utterly sublime. Thanks for showing.

The curves on this toy show that Lesney knew how to design within budget -if only they had used the same skills to get the rear window on the 75b its proper curve! I think the E box art is the timeline key

The colours going by Stannards book the Dark Blue model was issued 1st and the "E" box model picture shows this. Then the "F" box shows a much lighter Blue model on the box. AS with the Superfast models the 1st issues were Dark Blue before they got a Lighter Blue.

I have to disagree - the E box has a brighter blue car than either F box,the common RW dark blue shade is the same as the most common SF lightest blue candy over silver primer. The darkest blue SF usually come with short run brighter blue seats and Exx prefix solid tyres which excludes them from 1969 F box production which have solid tyres with double digit wheel mould numbers. The darkest blue SF were made just before the first light blue candy over white or light blue primer run which have similar later wheel mould numbers dating them as most likely 1971 or possibly even 1972
