I would say buy it if the price is reasonable, and try to find additional information on it later. It may not fit anywhere in your house or life right now, but I am sure a Dinky collector out there would show you a handsome profit on it in no time at all. If it were a Lesney Display, I would be the Buyer. These displays bring back pleasant memories to many of us who bought our toys out of them as treats whenever we went shopping in department stores much like the one featured on the older British show titled "Are You Being Served". Great Times, now we mainly have 'Box Stores' and Hot Wheels controlling the production of our Matchbox Toys........kwakers

I can now see why you have not jumped at the chance to buy such a unique display. If it were more complete (I, like yourself, can't imagine just 2 shelves of small models as on this one to take up such a large floor space), or was priced a little more reasonably, (Too much for a non-Dinky collector like you and I) my message to you would apply. Being pricey and possibly incomplete, the store may have this one for sale for awhile. I would have to ask them if they had any information on it, or perhaps any 'paper' from the lines of Toys they used to carry. They may have a surprise or two for you hidden away.........kwakers

the shop is located in a suburb of Hobart, the capitol of Tasmania,an often forgotten state of Australia. I'm told Tassie is quite simular to your land in weather and beauty only not volcanic, with just as many sheep though.

I have not seen this either, but the prominant White double arrow design started to appear during the late 1950's, in some catalogue images but becoming widely used during the 1060's and appearing on some model boxes. it appears on a lot of the gift sets during the early 1960's and in Trade catalogues from the same period.
