One body colour QUIZ

Another wet Auckland day, so stuck indoors.

Here's a 2 part quiz to get you looking at your models.

Without referring to a Regular Wheel 1-75 model guide put the 4 colours in order from most used to least used SINGLE body colour.
1st most used body colour - 4th least used body colour (of the 4 colours below).

Red
Blue
Green
Yellow

1st
2nd
3rd
4th

This part may need the use of a guide.
How many of the Regular Wheel 1-75 models come in the following colours?

Red ………..
Blue ……….
Green …...
Yellow …..

CRITERIA:
Metal body in just 1 colour excluding hand painted/masked trim/details, decals, plastics parts such as windscreens, hooks, canopies, etc.
Not including baseplates, wheels, rollers - just the body & any attachments e.g booms, beds.

It helps to imagine a model that would only have required ONE colour paint in spray process prior to hand or mask spraying for trim or detail.
e.g. 1A is green as gold detail & tan driver hand painted
Includes shades of colour e.g. dark green, mint green, metallic green.

I'll let the replies stack up and then after a set time/lack of interest/fine weather list the models for each colour.

I'll declare a winner (any ties go into draw) who can select from the following.

Had a go myself and was way short on all colours. Got final numbers by checking in various guides

It must be very wet in Auckland!! Not to bad here in Whanganui.
I reckon red, green, yellow and blue for colour use.
Have no idea at about the number of regular wheels produced in each colour....hey look, the sun has just come out!! Haven't got time for the second bit.

I'd guess - 65 red, 52green, 38 yellow and 31blue.

Great post. Thanks.
I love my 1-75s, some I've owned since the 1950s. I guess they're memory keepers. I am not fussed - I mix up my own originals with restorations, repros and some mint boxed. I just collect for enjoyment and I'm not even sure if my Vauxhall Victor has a dashboard or not.

I prefer the cars and commercials with wig written livery. When I went to school, teams and so on were often organised on Red, Green, Yellow, Blue basis. Accordingly, like your pic of four models above I like to group my shelves the same way.
I'll have a blue kombi, yellow Vauxhall, red Jag and green Austin Freeway.
I'm offshore ATM but I'll post a pic when I can.
My Display cabinet holds 35 models. I was hoping to put together a "blue" collection; Triumph, Anglia, Kombi etc etc.
interestingly you list 35 blue models so it fits in nicely.
I would have thought yellow would win because of the large number of construction vehicles.
I guess green "won" cause they gain an additional 10 military models in khaki green. I have a few army models but never display them - sombre and not a nice display colour.
Thanks again.

Hi radar,

Glad you enjoyed the post. Yes, the military models did boost the green category.
I think also my interpretation of metallic green and green/blue shade also helped.

Initially thought, after a quick glance at my collection that it would have been red.

Re grouping models - I occasionally have a change around and group models by category.
Putting all the military models together, farm vehicles, commercial, sports cars, etc - makes for interesting displays.

Ya, like I said my mixture of 50s originals, mint boxed, repros and restorations.
My favourites are the English sedans and Commercial vehicles with sign writing/decals.
Coupla rows you can see I've organised along Red, Yellow, Blue, Green process - trucks and cars.

The case is for Trax - dinky sized replicas of Australian Holdens and Falcons. I like to change over occasionally and mix my display - keep it discret and most of it is stored away.
My aim is to fill this display case with blue one body 1-75 RWs!

Nice collection of earlier models radar - like the display case, really shows them off well.

Steve, will get your model into the post over the next few days.
