SF#12 Safari Land Rover

Caution advised with this one!!!!

There is clear signs of tampering around the base rivet and stress marks/warping across base near rivet area. One to avoid IMHO.

Yes, damage on the base is a big worry. The seller's feedback shows lots of htf's being sold apparently from a family collection. What about this one:

When it comes to models such as those two featured above, has any seller actually pointed-out the quality of rivets as well as the 'Pin-Prick' paint faults etc ?
If I were selling something such as one of those models, I would make sure I mention the rivets and as too how original they are, but I don't see this mentioned, which if original from factory, you would mention to assure the buyer that the model is original, funny that !!

My rule of thumb for 12c blue with SF and gold with RW: assume they are all fakes and bid accordingly (i.e. not at all). I no longer consider either valid variations. Certainly neither can be considered rare.

Mark Curtis posted on FB this month that all blue SF Landies were fakes and that the original guide listings were a mistake based on fakes back in 1970! Could be true for all I know because they were faking silver landies back in 1970!
