As the resident RR expert I'm wondering if you can tell me anything about this unusual Roller that just came my way in a joblot. I think it's been used outside for something, it has a thin metal baseplate which is quite rusty on the inside and has what looks like deliberate cut outs in 2 of the corners (for drainage maybe?)

Please give some idea of size, and markings (if any).

Looks like a flower pot holder to me, holes in the base for drainage and the rust caused by watering??

Just over 6 inches long, no markings (not even a 'Made In China') and the no.plate reads RRPV5

I did wonder about that, but the hole in the roof is only about 1.5 inches in diameter so it'd be a pretty small plant pot. Maybe there's a specially made garden gnome that sits in the car instead

Hi Ewan,
I have a cigarette lighter that belonged to my wife's grandfather so this could either be an ash tray version or if you look at this link it may accept a circular lighter like the one in the pic.
The lighter in ours is rectangular. I shall have a look for it and take a photo if you like.

According to Mr. Google, RRPV stands for Rolls Royce Power Ventures.
How heavy is it? Does it have a quality or tinny feel to it?

Now what do you need me for, my friends have more or less given you what you want...
I will just add:
It was made in Japan for the novelty lighter market (yes there should be a lighter in the roof-hole), and is made from a type of basic Pewter with the same properties as Lead, I.E. it is quite soft and malleable and very easy to cast. The two extra holes have probably been made by a previous owner as they are not on my own example, I can see no real purpose for them except for drainage suggesting it has been used for a small pot plant. The model has been marketed by at least two distribution companies...'COMOY' during 1990 and 'SIDELINES' during 1991. The size of the model has been measured as being close to 1/35th scale.
The real car this model is based-on comes from 1963, is a Phantom V with bodywork by James Young to design No.PV 23, a Touring Limousine.
There you see, I couldn't really add much could I...
GHOSTHUNTER.

That's it yellowfoden - thanks very much
And thanks Ghosty for the extra info
Maybe someone removed the lighter and put it outside for an ashtray....
I hope this is not some kind of message for me - I have been on e-cigs for nearly 2 months now. Just replaced one addiction with another - 20 quid a week rather than 60, and hopefully not as harmful although there seems to be mixed opinions on that.
