I would love to see if this rolls naturally, probably cut and shut axles because base rivit is original - looks too good to be true?
Ford Zodiac with hubcaps - pre-pro or custom?
Re: Ford Zodiac with hubcaps - pre-pro or custom?
I've been caught out by one of these before. (I got my money back.)
Re: Ford Zodiac with hubcaps - pre-pro or custom?
I'd be wary seller also has a #3 painted to look like a later military vehicle and a corgi code 3 so may do customs, I asked them to add the extra pictures including base shots which was done quickly
They have also resisted the gpw jag

I do wonder whether this vendor knows more than he's letting on.
Obviously the GPW 28c is genuine, but is that simply bait to lure in the unwary?

Seller very clearly describes the green SF3 + big Jag as repaints so looks honest to me! Is it possible that the Zodiac and Jagfixer wrote:I'd be wary seller also has a #3 painted to look like a later military vehicle and a corgi code 3 so may do customs, I asked them to add the extra pictures including base shots which was done quickly

Im pretty sure this is the same seller who was mentioned on the old lefora forum who had some 'interesting' brown superfast MKII cortinas.

You're right, I think it was a couple of years back. I bought a s/f blue Cortina with regular wheels at that time, it was only three or four pounds and I can't fault it (it's extremely playworn, has a factory looking rivet, no sign's of glue or sawn axles, rolls ok, etc). I think bidders were scared off.ogedei_voidoid wrote:Im pretty sure this is the same seller who was mentioned on the old lefora forum who had some 'interesting' brown superfast MKII cortinas.

There's nothing regular about wheels

This is certainly not the seller of the fake SF Beige Cortinas.ogedei_voidoid wrote:Im pretty sure this is the same seller who was mentioned on the old lefora forum who had some 'interesting' brown superfast MKII cortinas.

I have seen a few other examples of the 53 Zodiac with chromed hubs, It is without doubt a pre pro as it is shown on the earliest box with hubs. But the axle ends on this one are not original.

Perhaps this person really does have a batch of playworn cars that came from somebody who had access to R&D items?? If 3 line Jag had been in shed for years then perhaps Zodiac and blue rw Cortina came with it and who know what else??johnboy wrote:You're right, I think it was a couple of years back. Please johnboy share a photo of your Cortina baseplate and body!
