need some help with identifying cars in collection
I recently received my grandfather's Matchbox collection of about 375 cars. It seems to have most, if not all of the boxes and most of the cars are in great condition. In my new research the last two days I have found a couple I am curious about (and I am sure there are more). Maybe half of them are regular wheels and the others are superfast or models of yesteryear.
One is the Bedford Lomas Ambulance 14c with gray (or silver?) wheels. I just can't tell the difference between the gray and silver wheels, are there any tips?
I have a Blue PIckfords 46b 2 line decal promotional item. But again, I don't know how to tell between gray and silver plastic wheels.
A light blue Ford Prefect 30a with gray plastic wheels.
A Jaguar D type 41b with the wire wheels and number 5 logo.
A Leyland Petrol Tanker 32c in blue with the ARAL logos.
I also have a Harley Davidson motorcycle, a lambretta scooter, a couple of the early farm vehicles, a bunch of buses, police and fire vehicles, and so on.
I will try to get pictures up, can I host them on Picasa? It seems like each little variation makes a difference so maybe if I can a wide shot of the cars, you guys could pick ones out that might be interesting and I can add additional pictures.
I won't be selling off the whole lot, I plan to keep a bunch to give to my son but I would be willing to entertain offers.
Thank you for any and all of your help.

Hello Elinders, it should be possible for you to upload pictures from 'Picassa' by looking for the three or four available codes near the picture for sharing or direct loading onto websites etc.
You might have to try one or other of the codes to make it work, not a 'Picassa' user myself so not familiar with their page layout, but essentially you need to make the code script turn blue like you do when you copy and paste text, then click 'Ctrl' +'C', this will copy the code for that picture. When your'e in the reply box for this forum, place the cursor where you want the picture and click 'Ctrl' + 'V' finish what you want to say and click the 'Submit' button below, any further problems give us a shout and somehow we will sort it for you.
By the way...Welcome to the forum, enjoy your stay here and lots of pictures please once you know how to post them.
Regards,
Ghosty.

Thank you for the tips!

I loaded 50 pictures into an album, hopefully the link works.
I tried to get most of the regular wheel cars, sorry the pictures aren't amazing, they are just iphone pictures. But you will get an idea of what I have.
They are not in any sort of order, besides sort of keeping them with similar vehicles. And disregard the little numbers written on the tops, that wipes right off. I just didn't get to it.
I didn't go through and take pictures of all of the boxes, that will be another day.
Thanks for taking a look!

Hi elinders,
Very nice models and it appears that you have some rare desirable ones in there.
Right of the bat ( in addition to a few that you have mentioned) I am noticing these ones.
There may be others that I'm not seeing, but someone will point them out I'm sure.

That 15a yellow prime mover will fetch high price on ebay. Also you have a nice mint ARAL 32 petrol tanker that is around 100£. But I see many many nice crisp models that will sell very well. But from what I can see the highlight is the yellow 15a (estimate 200-400£ if real) Green 68 bus easlie fetsh 80£ and so on and on and on
But there is so much quality in this lot Will you sell og keep. (they will only become worth more, and you now have time to learn about them, so dont sell)
Thanks for showing

Have a look in my ebay listings http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/dr_jazz/m.htm ... pg=&_from=

Thank you both! I uploaded some additional photos of the cars you mentioned into the same album. Maybe you can confirm your suspicions?

Thank you all for your help, this is fun to get an idea of what I have.
I'm in the U.S., I'm not sure if that matters or changes anything though. With ebay and paypal it is pretty easy to do business anywhere.
Thank you for the private messages, since I just joined it says I can't respond yet, but I will as soon as the system lets me. I'm assuming it's after I post a certain number of times? But I added a few pictures of the ones people asked about so far. If there are others I can add them tonight.
My main goal is to take the ones that are actually worth something and match them up with their boxes and put them away or get a separate case to display them.
And I just looked at the pictures, I apologize for so many blurry ones.
Yeah I'm not sure what the writing is on the tops of some of the cars. It does come right off (with 1 or 2 being a little stubborn) and thankfully I haven't see any damage from it. I'm not sure why he would write on them when it is right on the bottom of the car.
The case was built for my grandfather by his friend. It is a bunch of the smaller matchbox branded cases inside a large wooden bracket, with a plexiglass front. It probably weighs 100 lbs or more.
My son is 16 months old so I have given him some of the newer models to play with that I am not too concerned with. He is having fun with them.
