One of my mum's. She bought it about 38yrs ago from a market stall. The unusual point is this Mettoy has the number 3 on it. I've so far only found one other example of a number 3 and it was in a worse state than this one.

Hello again McCarthyMR, This is the winning lot for you if you intend selling the last few models you have shown. Mettoy in this condition is very saleable and the subject tends to help, a racing car, collectors like their racing cars.

This is looking like a toy from the early years of production, 1947-48, even appearing as a drawing on the cover of the 1948 catalogue.

Do not be tempted to clean this toy, just lightly dust off any loose debrit with a clean cloth and a modelling brush.

Very nice to have something like this from one of the UK's premier toy companies who would later on develop a range of metal diecast vehicles in 1956 under the brand name of 'CORGI TOYS' and the rest as they say is History.

Thanks for showing it here.

GHOSTHUNTER.
