Re: HELP NEEDED
Hi and welcome to the forum. This is an old photo and it's not focused properly on the green Merc but the one I have is silver trimmed, including the hub centres. There are 2 or 3 of these that I know of. Is this what you mean? There was a discussion quite some time back and I can't recall much but one theory was that these may have been samples hurridly produced in the advent of Hot Wheels and the transition from Regular Wheels to Superfast. Of course that's just one idea and this could be a railroader's work as well, perhaps others can help? It is interesting that a small number of these are known.

Re: HELP NEEDED
the one I saw at brentwood had wheel hubs similar to the 24c without any other detailing

Re: HELP NEEDED
do you know what type of wheel was fitted ,was it a chrome wheel with rubber tyre or solid black wheel with chrome hub cap.
Re: HELP NEEDED
If anyone here has one, it'll be Antonin. (In fact, I have the idea that he posted a photograph of this variation on the old forum.)
Re: HELP NEEDED
From what I can remember they were plastic wheels with caps, the effect was the same as the box illustration and was rather fetching

Re: HELP NEEDED
The Mercedes with hub caps / silver hubs may have been intended but never made it into production, As we have seen many other box illustrations the green Mercedes box shows a pre production model fitted with silver hubs.

Re: HELP NEEDED
With opening doors and trunk it seems likely that chrome hub wheels were dropped from this model in order to keep the model materials + labour costs within the budget to ensure a target profit
