Miniature Racing Cars - 50's?

Hey guys,

I'm wondering if anyone can identify these miniature F1 racing cars (possibly from the 50's). As you can see, they have no markings whatsoever. They are fairly heavy and no more than a couple of centimetres long (They make the tuf-tots look big - Pictured next to a Thames Estate Car).

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated. :)

These look like they might be games pieces or counters.

hmm, it;s possible. I have had a look but so far, the only games I've found have plastic pieces like these.

The two cars are much bigger than your average gaming pieces as well. Although that doesn't mean they weren't. I have a complete 1950's Escalado game with the lead horses and they are pretty big.

I doubt that games pieces or counters would have separate axles (c.f. the Monopoly racing car).

In the early versions of this game, part of the game play was to assemble the wheels and axles to the cars. In later versions, the cars were fully assembled apart from the tyres.
