Hey all,

I don't have the books but I do have this bus. As you may have been guessing, I've been going through my childhood toys and have also been looking at my dad's collection.

According to Nick's online catalogue, only GPW buses had a smooth inner roof. Well, I thought I'd see if I can counter that with this poor example. It definitely has BPW although they are well used but also has a smooth roof. :)

Let me know your thoughts:

Hi this picture you show must be the #5c bus as this is the only one that comes with GPW and BPW, and I have the Mike Stannards variation book and that lists this model with both type of wheels with a Smooth roof interior and a criss cross pattern roof interior. Are you sure that this is not a 5d bus you are showing? The 5c bus is 66mm long, and the 5d bus is 70mm long and on the 5c bus does not have the round supports for the axles, as the one you show has these ones.

Only the 5d had white seats, this is a 5d not a 5C!!!

Of course Mick, it was staring me in the face, as only the 5d comes with seats Cream or White. Too intent on other aspects of his pictures to notice the seats

oops, that explains that one then. But then that's why I come here. I know some things but, compared to you guys, I'm only scratching the surface of knowledge. :)

Don't feel bad at all about this mistake. I actually bought this same 5D with smooth roof last month that was advertised as a 5C. I probably have 5 boxed spares of it already, but I keep all of my mistakes anyway. The listing pictures clearly showed it's seats, and the Seller who made the mistake in his listing was 50 year plus veteran Matchbox collector Bob Brennen. You are in good company George and McCarthyMR, we all ignore the obvious some days......LOL :D kwakers
