Hey all,

I've had and played with this since I was a kid and I had passed it onto my 3yr old son to do the same. However, he hid it in my 'man-bag' for work a couple of weeks ago and I decided to google it. Since then I have put hidden it very high on a shelf.

Basically, I think it's the rare variation but wanted to check with you guys to see if I'm correct.

Yes a tough one to find and worth about £50 on eBay.

Ah! a nice example and seems to be what is classed as HTF, (Hard To Find), and several have been shown on this forum so hopefully our resident Miura experts will come forward and tell you everything you need to know about this version...

Thanks Ghosty, I'm also helping my mum go through my dad's old toys. He's literally got a bit of everything from Britains to Hornby to Lesney to Dinky to Corgi to GTP and many others in between.

You may find me post up a few of them as we work our way through.

I didn't have one growing up, but I was lucky enough to find one about 20 years ago.

Well McCarthyMR, you've come to the right place, as many pictures as you can and including pictures of the baseplate and rivet detail is perfect, they can reveal so much of the models past history.

Whatever you find, someone here on this forum is very likely to know something about it.

If you have this rare gold Muira that came with Motorway or giftsets made for christmas 1969 then you may also have the orange Mustang and red Ferrari Berlinetta fitted with identical wheels from the same gift set -well worth looking at whatever you have left to see if these £50 plus pair are also in your old toys.....

erm.. Well.. erm.. probably as I do also have a red berlinetta with the same wheels. I have a black mustang although I suspect it was originally painted white. I was born in '76 so it's likely my dad had them and gave them to me to play with. That being said, the orange mustang could always be amongst my dad's collection. I'll have to look into it.

Food for thought as I hadn't searched for the Berlinetta yet..

Ok, update on that. I just dug out the Berlinetta from my son's toy box and it has the thin SF wheels. So I guess that's a no no still, while I was there I dug out a hole bunch more of my other toys. Should be fun working through them tonight.
