Unknown Japanese ERF Petrol Tanker
Hey all,
I thought I'd start my first post by asking if anyone knows what this petrol tanker is. I found it in a charity shop with a GPW Thames Estate Car and a GPW ERF Petrol Tanker for £3.
All I know it is most definitely made of lead and it has JAPAN written on the underbelly underneath the back bumper. It is also about half to 2/3rd the size of the GPW Lesney ERF Petrol Tanker.
I did find one other example online but the guy knows less than I do as he thinks it's american, appearing not to have found the 'JAPAN' label.
Any help to identify this is appreciated.

Re: Unknown Japanese ERF Petrol Tanker
I'm sure Mike has one of those and Nick gave some background info on them, there is a post on them somewhere
Also I'm sure I've seen a 20a that looks to be made by the same makers

It may be one of the models connected with the 'AHI' series and so here is a link to the "Matchbox" Copies thread...viewtopic.php?f=5&t=338&start=20#p2321 where there is some info on them.

Thanks for that link Ghosthunter, it appears you hit the nail right on the head, for I did a quick google on 'AHI Toy Cars Japan' and found a website dedicated to them. On the front page of the site was this pic. The tanker is the third row down in the middle:GHOSTHUNTER wrote:It may be one of the models connected with the 'AHI' series and so here is a link to the "Matchbox" Copies thread...viewtopic.php?f=5&t=338&start=20#p2321 where there is some info on them.

This is the link to an earlier thread, the tankers are very similar although a little different from underneath.

If these toys are supposedly made of lead then wouldn't this be a health hazard esp for kids?
