Not sure about this one.

Anyone know this seller? I was looking at close ups of the axle ends and I didn't like what I was seeing. Also, one axle is rusting but the small end not only looks dodgy but shows no signs of rust on the end that has been peened. Opinions?

I don't like the rear axle and this colour version tends to have alternate axle-ends, I.E. The front axle usually has the peened end on the (UK), drivers side and the rear axle will be opposite to this, but it looks like both axles have the peened end on the same side of the model, does happen but not a lot on this colour version as it comes from the box change over period when the 'R' in a circle was added by the foot of X at the end of MATCHBOX.
The open axle housings base and box seem correct though for this version.
If it stays at a reasonable low price, might be worth having it anyway!
Ghosty.

Does a John Carpenter movie circa 1983 based on a book written by Stephen King ring a bell as to the seller?

I looked over a few of the 'Rares' this Seller has parted with recently, and none of the others that have sold raise any alarms. I did not examine them all very closely, just enough of them to see they look a lot better than this Mercedes Bus does.
However, that being said, Mick is right, even the color is wrong on this one. My guess would be that the Seller was duped on this model years ago and may need an education and some guidance on it. You are right Joe, I can't see this one as an original model, it has too many problems with it. If anyone has dealt with the Seller, I would make contact and alert them to our observations on it. One bad 'Rare' out of many I looked over does not lead to a bad Seller, just one bad purchase being passed on to another collection. kwakers

Lesney made a ton more open axle bases painted in orange than they made with turquoise and those orange models went into the older boxes with the green bus on the face.
