I need a bit of help from any Londoners. I've got a new job in Brixton and I'm trying to figure out where to live. I've found a few properties in Bromley, http://www.alandemaid.co.uk/forsaleoffice/Bromley/692 but I don't know the area at all. Is anyone familiar who could give me a bit of advice? Or any other suggestions of areas to look? I'm not familiar with London at all and it's a bit overwhelming!

Gee Whiz.... ,houses in Uk are expensive if i have to convert it to our Zar. 1gbpStlg = R18.20.If i have to make a purchase on a house for approx 750K-gbpSterling then that will set me back R13 650 000,00.With this amount of money i could buy 2x Blocks of Flats containg 10x apartments each.
I guess it all relative and affordable with earning and living in the Uk.
Come on over to SA and drink beer for free and i could come over to Uk and die of thirst after my 1st...

Bromley is OK much better than Brixton or any London borough anything in town will be very expensive you will get better value for money the further out you live just have to consider the travelling, if you drive in a journey from say 30 miles out can take over 2hrs trains are quicker but can be expensive to get to Brixton you need to use the Victoria line on the tube but it doesn't go out to Bromley but busses should be viable traffic depending

Nice area Bromley, Brixton - YUK !! I used to live in Balham and not to bad there and only down the line from Brixton. Probably around the same prices as Bromley now and think my old 3 bedroom flat now sells at around 450 - 500 G.
Love London but still no desire to go back and see it - just changed so much nowadays.
