Please for help.
I sought the color difference between:
Ford zodiac 33a

Code 3: dark green body.
Code 4: flat dark green body.

Please send photos.
Thanks Mike & Nico

The difference is easy to see, Mike.
The flat (or, better, matt) green version does not look shiny at all, the paint is completely dull. It is exactly the same as with matt and gloss baseplates.

I remember a discussion about the matte green car in the past, and someone else posted theirs - it had the exact same casting flaws as mine - the uneven surface is the casting, not paint. I suspect they were a small batch made during a short period of time early in the production run.

Here are some pics of my matte/flat green 33a:

The matte colour looks really nice on this model.

I agree despite the flaws in the casting I actually prefer the matte green finish

I found 2 of these Matt Green Zodiacs and both at a surprise.I do not believe/accept them as variations as i firmly believe that it was caused by a type of paint thinners used, lack of varnish/lacquer in the paint or sprayed while the castings were cold.

While I am in full agreement with Numi regarding this as a non-color variation I do enjoy the distinguishing aspects of a matte green finish as opposed to gloss. As I had written in previous posts on another forum and even an early blog on 33A Zodiacs back in 1996, I view both these colors as dark green. Discussion of all the different "hues of blues" as well as the turquoise sea green, sea green, and shades in between is best saved for another thread. - E
