ANOTHER DISASTER

Hi all managed to pick up a rarity off ebay on Sunday night, I asked the seller if it had any dents or creases on the box they said it was mint, picture looked very good, they said the number 51 Citroen was metallic orange on the listing. It dropped through the letter box at lunch time in one of the smallest jiffy bags that you can buy, you can guess what happened next, opened the jiffy bag to find that the box was crushed too bits. I emailed the seller she didn't realise that they needed to be packed well she offered a refund but it will still cost me £3 to send it back & still waiting for her return address. Some sellers haven't got a clue Pete

I know this must be disappointing Pete. Having seen your collection I know how 100% perfect you like your boxes.
Its always wise to specify that your win should be shipped in a cardboard box, I learned this lesson after winning a blue dome 55c which arrived with a pushed in dome light and a cracked windscreen after being shipped in a jiffy bag...

It's happened to me a few times Pete, it's very sad that they survive all these years only to be destroyed by negligent sellers or rough post-handling. I always message the sellers now and ask that boxes are either boxed up in a strong mailing box, or carefully folded open and flat in-between strong card. I had a small coronation coach posted in a brown envelope once, needless to say it was in masses of pieces by the time it hit my doormat. :(

I had the same so left neutral feedback thus "Inadequately packed in a jiffy bag resulting in box damage." Got a whinging e-mail complaining that I'd ruined they're 100% feedback. I won't post my reply to them, but it wasn't polite!

I didn't think neutral feedback affected the feedback rating?

That's right, it doesn't affect the rating percentage. Perhaps the seller was mis-informed or just meant that all his previous feedback had been positive up until then?

Hi All, i'm getting over it now had a couple of scotches I feel sorry for all the other customers & some of them are frightened to complain. Its a shame when something can be ruined in a few days which is 40 years old. I tried loading a photo but it wouldn't go Pete.

Gald ure coming to terms with this unfortunate incident Pete and just cannot believe that this is happening to u again.
Negligence is actually the pre-cursor to the lack of basic common sense which is not so common after all !
Sorry about that Pete and im sure u will find something special soon.Cheer up!! ;)

I believe that the Seller is just an idiot, especially after you had asked the condition of the box for the model. The Seller sending it unprotected is really a case for neutral Feedback, but I would give them the option of refunding all of your money PLUS the 3 pounds for shipping before you log it for them. If they agree, you are undamaged, but if you wish to keep the mint model, simply enjoy it and move on as Numi has said. They will hopefully learn from your irate message that they must protect merchandise being shipped out with a sturdy box, but a neutral Feedback warning to other Buyers may save someone else your same dilema. What stupidity....... :( kwakers

Hi all managed to get my £5 back but lost out on both postages. I sent it back in the same packet it came in, the seller said I don't know what you are bothered about the box looks perfect to me, I said it was bronze in the listing & not orange. The listing clearly states orange, win some ,lose some Pete.
