mega blasters ?

got this at a bootsale for 10p out of curiosity I have never heard of these before , can anyone add any background to these
has mega blasters /cap cars on the base

I think these are from the early 1980's (looks like 1983 on the base of the one in your picture), with just a limited number of models in the range, no more than a dozen. They seem to have been designed with a lot of action built in to each model by the use of inserting 'caps' similar to 'Cap guns' and the lever underneath somehow excited the cap and caused an explosion!

As there were only so many models made, they might be worth searching out and collecting. I don't know if they were current castings or newly designed castings but they were all made in Macau.
