I asking myself why Lesney put those edges to the rear of the #16 d Case bulldozer.
They look like decal location guides but there was no decal applied to the #16 d, or did I miss something?
Was there a decal planed? Or is it just because this casting is partly a scale down of his big brother from the king size range(which we all know has a decal applied)?

I could imagine that this was already dicussed but I can't find the thread.

I think you've hit the nail on the head with that suggestion. If Lesney used the same master buck and simply set the pantograph up to create a 1-75 instead of a KingSize, then everything would be reproduced in miniature - including these superfluous decal location guides.

I took some time, comparing the Rw with the King size model.
Although the King size bulldozer has more room for details (because it is bigger), it has less details as the Rw issue.
Example given: Lesney left out the little doors (left and right) at the front of the King size bulldozer. They created an other engine, the Rw engine seems more detailed.
I note many differences while comparing the two models. I tried to make them become clearer in the pictures shown below.

I also took some time comparing the Rw issues with the superfast issue.
From Nick's variation guide we know, that there exist four different castings of the baseplate(numbered 1-4 underneath in the hollow which forms the engine) and three casting modifications of the body.
My two Rw bulldozers should be code 16 and 17 (Nick's variation list) and my superfast issue has the baseplate casting "1".(Baseplate was modified , so it does not show N° 16 any more)

I recognized that the bodies which were fitted to the baseplate-casting "1" had problems with the mould. The areas left AND right from the engine are not smooth...there are some little holes and bumps.
The body which was fitted to the baseplate-casting "4" only has on the right (drivers position) area little holes and bumps.

I don't know if this is sheer coincidence. Maybe someone could check his models. Also baseplate-castings "2" and "3", I am missing those.

It does seem odd that Lesney made the 'King-Size' Case dozer first in 1966 and a smaller version in 1969, as part of the '1-75 Series' but with more detail!
Maybe the 'King-Size' Transporter and dozer together went over budget so they left some detail off the model, but used it all on the smaller (therefore cheaper), miniature version, just a thought.
