46c - Color variation or repaint?

Post by MBXPilot »

Alright, question for you Lesney guys. I picked up this Merc a couple weeks ago. It came in a big lot of cars that all had been very poorly repainted at some point, but this one's much nicer paint job, and darker green stood out.

When someone pointed it out, I got it off the shelf and really took a closer look. It's most certainly darker than the normal green on this car. Sorry for the crappy car it's compared to, but that's all I've got haha.

The first thing that stands out to me is the rivets. They look ground down a bit, but the car won't come apart when I put decent force into it. So that's a question mark.

Also, the inside of the trunk is painted. I'm not an experienced Lesney collector by any means, but I've never seen one like that.

rivets drilled and repainted
Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
