Mind Blowing

Post by maldat »

Getting back into collecting cars.. Taking a pic of car on the box and putting in a folder I thought was a good idea. Now reading thru here for the past week , I understand the car and its box need to be photo'd from every side.. I'm glad winter is coming wood shed is full, hope we get snowed in for a few days . . LOL I got porn pic's to take.. So far my Matchbox folder of my cars is 2.22Gb being 539 Files in 16 Folders...
Sorry for not having many but only started collecting again about 12 months ago.
I also have 3 car carry cases full of loose cars not photo'd
I don't have many A or B cars, but mostly C,D,E,F .etc.
Their is a lot to sorting out your cars .. and knowing what you have.. Massive task ahead..but better to do it sooner than later.

Maldat, If that is the standard of your Photography skills then i for one am looking forward to seeing some more of your collection images.

Those images are exactly what we are looking for on the forum, nice and clear, nicely focused and very professionally looking. It really makes a huge difference to having other members appreciate your collection when you present such excellent quality images. Congrats.

I am sure Ghosty will also agree with these comments.

Hello Maldat, yes, you have got the pictures shown above pretty much correct, so whatever settings you use on your Camera or Smartphone, keep them that way, they are giving you very good results.

My only advice here is that you can afford to make your images a bit bigger for this forum, go and look at other pictures and in many cases, the 'File Size' (shown as something like...56.5 KiB...), under the actual image, will make a difference to the size of your final image, and if you experiment with resizing your pictures you can come up with a nice large image.

Many members of the forum use an on-line photo sharing site such as 'Imagebucket' (my contraction here), that will allow even bigger images to be displayed on the forum, but as a relatively new member, you might want to get used to how you are doing it at the moment before investigating that method.

Hi, Cheers I have used lots of camera settings to try and get the best pic.. I don't like to use the flash as it changes the colour.
I've found camera about a foot away from model then zoom in so its full screen , seams to work well.

I have been using the Ai setting on camera and file size is just over 4mb.. bigger pic better detail.. Have changed camera now so file size is just over 2mb and have found anther camera setting called expressive ..Which seams to make the box art really pop in colour. Camera has heaps and heaps of settings. Panasonic FZ150 ..

Please also note everyone's computer is different so colour will be different on different pc's.. ever so slightly

Might have a play with black and white ,,,

Here is another version of "Maldat's" picture...

Taken with a Panasonic DMC-FZ150, with a 35mm lens stopped down to about f/3.2. With an average exposure time of 1/60th second it creates an ISO speed equivalent to 400. Without using flash, the Camera has probably selected a 'Pattern' metering setting and adjusted the lens to about 3.5 aperture, giving the final focal length of 10mm.

Now that's what you call 'Showing Off' :D :D :D
