We had a discussion about these on the old forum and then the query was passed to www.prewarcar.com (at my instigation). As I recall, the only piece of firm information which came out of it all was that the registration numbers appeared to be Indian!

I seem to recall that there was some kind of information on the box too. (Was it a price in an unspecified currency?) That photo is probably worth reposting as well.
