Has anyone heard or seen this model fitted with black plastic wheels?
Thanks.

If a 33A model were to appear with BPW, I would expect the tires were painted for a railroad display, or perhaps even changed by someone years ago with bad axle ends as evidence. Be VERY wary of any model that does not appear in Nick's excellent Guide carb. The rarest BPW models are all listed there, and any others not found there today are not known to exist at all......kwakers

I have never heard of a 33a with bpw before. But thats not to say they were never made, But I agree with Dick. It's most likely to be a railway layout refugee.

Thanks guys for your reply. I suspected as much. I have heard of one, and seen only a photo, but not had it in hand to check it .
Cheers carb

We are still adding new casting variations as well as previously unrecorded tire diameters and tread counts to Nick's listings once in a while carb, so don't be afraid of searching for them. To find a GENUINE missing tire COLOR in 2014 is not expected, but every collector still dreams of finding their own Lesney 'Holy Grail'.
Investigate that BPW 33A anyway, it would look nice on a shelf if it is cheap enough, even if it is a modified model......kwakers

Hi Louis,
Presumably the model in question is in the last two-tone colourway?
Cheers,
Gavin

Louis,
Oh, I see it now - had it on my watchlist, but probably didn't look closely enough at it. Interesting...
Cheers,
Gavin

Hi Louis/Gavin,
Yes, on mine as well - got a bid in. If successful, fully expecting to be cleaning off the black paint on the wheels.

Here's a similar one I got a few months back..

Had some detailing on front & rear as well - used Fairy Power spray to remove black on wheels.

The hardest part was cleaning between the treads

That one turned into a very nice Cresta in the end Rodger! This is my favourite colour scheme for 22b, although obviously not the rarest...
Cheers,
Gavin
