That does look like gold trim (although the umberplate is an aftermarket addition).
I've found that some gold trim is not at all obvious when the model is viewed head on, but is when the model is viewed obliquely (i.e. from the side, from below or from above).

The trim is a bit messy around the right hand headlight isn't it? I don't have many trimmed Matchbox but they are all much neater than that.

Sorry Mike I missed a bit off . grey plastic wheels with crimped or rounded axles. J

I also see a model with orignal Golden grille.
But confused me the number plate (license plate).
