Casting # 75
Casting # 75
75a Ford Thunderbird, issued 1960, length 67mm, box types B-C and D.
75b Ferrari Berlinetta, issued 1965, length 75mm, box types E and F.
Silver Plastic Wheels.
Grey Plastic Wheels.
Black Plastic Wheels. (Looking for a nice Mint one)
I cannot beleave that I forgot to put the colour of the four bases on, thanks Greg for putting yours on.
The three types of rear trim, the Silver on the rear bumber is on the rear light surround I suppose that must be the bumber.
The White lines on the side are a reflection of the light.
I think that this Silver base model is pretty HTF.
I will Start from #1 again for the newer members who were not members on the old site, in about 2 weeks time, if that's alright with members

My 75s:
The latter car I found in a lot of other old playworns at a yard sale several years ago, it has a black base.

Another interesting 75a Thunderbird that came my way from fellow variation hound JJ Enk. It has been discussed in the past how on models where the rear axle ends fit up inside the body casting, models like the 75a Thunderbird or the 27c Cadillac, it isn't terribly uncommon for the front and rear wheels to be different in some way as the front wheels are fitted and axles rounded before the body is added and the rear axle and wheels are added at the time the body goes into place. On this black wheeled example from JJ the front wheels have a 24 tread count and the rear wheels have a 36 tread count!

Greg and now George have beaten me to the base colours of the 75a (photography is a slow process in Tanwha's Cave - toys lying around are temptation for little fingers), but here they are anyway, with my #75 contributions - also painted and unpainted base 75b...
Yes, models and boxes worse for wear with 75a, but the model is fiendishly hard to find in anything like mint condition. Here are bases - I still have one to get:
75b
Cheers,
Gavin

Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

Re: Casting # 75
Hi all, can I get some clarification of the blue base colours on the Ford Thunderbird(#75a).
In the listings there are Blue, Dark blue and blue green.
Both George and Greg show a light Blue(which I have yet to find) is this classed as the Blue.
I have 3 blues(metallic, light and dark blue but no very light blue ones) not including the blue/green.
Now and i am getting a bit confused.
Blue Green ok this seems quite straight forward.
What about Blue and Dark blue.
All the best
Jason
