Trying to identify these for a friend? Any ideas appreciated. Underside only shows Patt Applied for made in England

I don't recognise them, They look like they might have come from an early fairground / rollercoaster toy, what size are they?

Hello tks66, Welcome to the forum.

A company based in Walsall takes most of the credit for making this model as part of a series, the actual model you have shown is based on a fairground dodgem car, but the other models in the range are based on contemporary cars and light commercials.

The range have been marketed under a few 'Brand' names, but the most well known is 'Robin Hood' and they assigned a 'TP SERIES' catalogue number to each vehicle, (TP stands for Toy Products) and they date from the mid-40's into the early 1950's.

Many variations can be found within the range on these models, including rubber wheels, metal wheels, free-running wheels and clockwork powered wheels. The actual main body castings can also be significantly different.

I will post some pictures of some other models when I am on my other computer.

By sheer coincidence I found one of these at the Brentwood toy fair today, It was in orange.
They do have some additional writing on the base but it is too small to make out, I think the second word was FOR

Got to this thread late!.... the correct name of the model is "Midget Sports Car" and it was produced by Toy Products Ltd of Walsall as mentioned by Ghosthunter. It came packaged in an almost beige cardboard box with blue printing on it.
