41c Ford GT cream body ?

Post by mike »

Hello friends.
Is this Ford GT body (code number 4) cream?
Outdoors photographed!
Also, differences in the black base plate.

Mike they both look white to me, but it might be the image or my moniter thats making them look very similar.

Motorman, best comparison, the lateral view.

Mike, I'd have to agree with motorman on the white verse cream. If you look at the middle photo of the model sides I'd even go as far to say the bottom one has an extra coat of paint.
As for the bases there are certainly some different markings, faint lines. Looks to me one model is from a new die and the other from a worn or older one. This is quite interesting.
I think you need to find some new tyres for the right hand model as the rubber o rings don't suit it.

Still, nice models, thanks for showing us.

I agree with Steve, the paint looks thicker on the lower model. Look at the chip near the front wheel arch.

Hi Steve.
Thank you for your contribution to the model. :D
The O-rings on the rims is known to me.
But it is very difficult to make a real photo.
If I keep the models in my hand, I see a big difference in color.
Maybe a member of the forum has a better color comparison of the models.

Cheers Mike

AIR-VENT DETAIL...JPG

The detail within the bonnet 'Air-Vents' is lost on the left model due to thicker paint or a second coat being added to the first coat. The detail in the right hand bonnet 'Air-Vent' is crisper due to a thinner coat of paint.

I can see why the left hand model may appear as a cream shade against the right hand model, I can see cream on one laptop, but white on another laptop, but on my Father's PC stand alone unit, the models look like a very pale grey (very cheap brand of monitor used here), that's my findings.

I too agree Mike that both models are White and not Creamish.Yes,the bottom specimen definitely has a thicker coat of paint as Ghosty pointed out on the vents and Johnboy & Steve on the body distractions.
The extra coat of paint is also clearly visible under the wheel-wells.
Sorry Mike,nice models though.

Mike, One that I have, seems to be cream colored ??
It is missing the decal, but does not appear to be re-painted.
This model has the tow guides and bumper extension.
In Nicks variation guide however, the cream variation is noted, as having no guides or extension..
So I don't know??
Any thoughts from anyone, are appreciated.

Hello zBret,

Yes, the middle model looks 'creamier' on my laptop.
