20 Quid well spent :-)

There are many wonderful aspects to life in the Outer Hebrides, but access to toyfairs, or even half decent boot sales isn't one of them. As a consequence, my source for diecasts is overwhelmingly ebay, and I cannot remember the last time I bought one elsewhere. I'm not complaining as without ebay I'd probably have a different hobby but it was really great to get something this week that didn't come in the post!. My mother lives in Edinburgh, and forwarded a rather vague ad she'd seen on Gumtree for 46 varied diecasts, asking price £20, and 3 streets away from her. Reasoning that less than 50p each is a gamble worth taking I replied to 'go for it', and as she was coming up for a break anyway, they appeared this week.

I am rather happy. :D First one out of the box was the gold PA Cresta, and things stayed good all the way to the Morestone Foden at the bottom. I have a strict collecting policy of only keeping what I like rather than collecting a particular 'type' so the Foden is staying, as is the Bedford transporter and the 2 Cadillac 60 Specials. Everything else will duly be researched, cleaned and sold on, so if anyone sees anything they want/need please fire away and PM.

The gold Cresta sold on its own on ebay would probably get you your £20 back, Great find Mum!.

Nice lot Ewan, I love finds like this. The Morestone Foden is a nice truck and I bet the Cresta will look good after a clean.

I'm still at the stage I find Lesney wheel variations mind boggling and a bit confusing :?
However, I'm pretty sure they are silver. The interior is the darker shade, and the steering wheel is missing. If you want a close up I'll try and get one up in the next day or two.

Hello Ewan,

All those for twenty squids...amazing, the Corgi Bentley 3 Litre road car is good for 15 to 20 and I agree with Nick on the gold PA Cresta, another 20, (prices correct at the time of writing, down here in Buckinghamshire...!).

A great find, keep it up and good luck for the next lot.

Thanks for that - I had a fair idea about the Cresta but would have never known about the Bentley. My (lack of) Corgi knowledge is such that until I did a few searches I thought that the 'Tiger In My Tank' sticker on the Lotus was a childhood addition.......

Hi Ewan , Looks like you have a brown Caddy in that lot as well . Check both the caddy's together and you will see the shade difference.
