35b Snow-Trac Pre Pro?

Post by Diecast »

I have several 35b Snow Trac code 1 without axle brace. By one model, it is obvious that its predecessor had 1+2 rear windows. These windows were removed probably because of the stability and to strengthen the model, but the die was not repaired properly and the "footprint" of windows remained. By other models, there is no visible residues of two windows. Surely there must be a Pre-Pro with 1+2 rear windows (I would guess that Jason had this model in his nice collection, or at latest he will get it somewhere next week    )

i can see the outline of windows...i have two and they show no signs of outline windows...nice find Antonin
Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

This reminds me of the changes to the 34c VW Camper Van roof in order to avoid damage during tumbling.

Very nicely spotted Antonin. I have six, but none with the window outline. Another tricky variation to find on ebay without the right photos.

The artist’s impression on the first issue box does not appears to show a model with the extra rear windows. I therefore think it extremely unlikely that any of the three rear window bodyshells have survived since they would have been from very early on in the production process.

When I examine the Fred Bronner catalogue 1965 in detail, it looks like that there could be a rear corner window.
