30 Magirus Crane truck

Post by Wolfie Ginsburg »

At last, today, I have one of my holy grails

I know it's lost its hook and has miles of play-ware but this is one I've been after for about thirty years

In the M\arch 984 last edition of the UK Matchbox magazine Ray Bush says that at that time only five of these were known to be in the hands of collectors

So how rare (in comparison) is the crossover tan and orange version?

I just looked

Ray Bush's last magazine with an article about the Magirus was published in Feb 1985

He referred to a survey carried out by Phil Bowdidge in early 1984

In it Phil recorded that five of these code1 models in brown and red were five in the hands of collectors and two of the brown and orange ones code 2 ones

Of course all these surveys are inaccurate - there have always been secret collections out there
