Questions.

1. Do you have one & if you do where did you buy it and what condition is it in?

2. Do you have a 2 line blue (any variation, any condition) please show pictures & (or) confirm which specific casting variation it is?

My take.

Green 2 line is a fabricated fake made in the late 1980s in England to catch out “would be” fraudsters, it was made using original factory left over decals & reported via word of mouth on the British Swapmeet scene.

I don't have one and have no idea whether such a model could be real or not.

Having said that, it is made clear on the relevant page of the variations guide that this is likely to be a made up piece.

I do agree that as it is at best somewhat suspect, that it should not be given a variation number and should be included on that page as a footnote.

Do you think that the green 2 line Pickfords has a similar history as the 13d reverse colour Dodge Wrecker without silver trim and thicker crane booms? (Lesney bosses "faked" it in the factory)

Martin, thanks for your contribution, in response to Antonin, this Pickfords in green was not made at the factory and is nothing like the 13D "factory replicas".

You have a long road to travel, to convince me, that the crimp axle thick boom wrecker was sanctioned (at any level) by mid or upper management.

SCM,

Thank you for joining us with your expertise and interesting topics.

I'm interested of course in decal and label variations throughout the Lesney production. For many years now, I have taken the view that none of these can be particularly valuable given the ease with which decals and labels can be reassigned. So, whilst I have many so called scarce or rare label/decal variants in my collection, I've never paid more for any of them than I would for any common version of a model. I consider them interesting and nice to have in my display, but am perfectly happy to accept that any one of them may not have left the factory that way.

Cheers,
Gavin

I agree with Gavin some things are easy to fake and some people are very good at it, that's why I keep myself to a maximum of about £20 unless you can trust/know the seller, that way it's not so hard hitting if l get caught out

Hi the 2 line Dark Blue 46b with the gpw or the spw is always by Stannards a "B" casting, my one is a code 8 in Stannards book. The Dark Blue 3 line can be a type "A" or "B" casting my one is a code 1.

The fronts showing the type "A" casting on the left, and the type "B" casting on the right.

3 line code 1 and 2 line code 8.

Finally found it!
Mine is a Nick Jones variation code 8 (lightly playworn).
