Hi all.
Can anyone confirm that both these models are with there correct box and what is there approximate value?
Is the box in Model 1jpg the rare F type?
Thanks in advance.
Dizwold.

Re: Correct Boxes & Price Help
Hello dizwold, welcome to the forum.
I have edited your images to make them easier to look at as the size of the image you posted was on the large size.
The first #8 Mustang in the images below is the Superfast version in a Type G box, (The model looks like it would benefit from a light clean). The second is the regular wheel version in a rare type F Box depicting the Mustang with superfast wheels but with no Superfast script on the box.
The value of these is totally dependant on both the condition of the model and the box. The white Superfast #8 commands a much higher price than it's Regular wheel equivelant, having said that the type F box with no Superfast script is worth a fair bit in it's own right although i note that yours has little bit of wear which will obviously have a bearing on it's value.
More images on a smaller size will help forum members give their thoughts on value.

Hi Motorman.
Thank you for your reply and re-sizing the jpeg's. I've now seen the dimensions you've used "jpeg's", for what is adequate for the site.
Very grateful for your advice regarding the jpeg's stated, "yes they do need a clean, they just came-out a storage box in the loft".
I do, thought still have some queries on the 2 models, regarding the sites web page and wheel size's;
http://www.vintagebritishdiecasts.co.uk ... /sf8-e.htm
The second photo and comments states "Above: The hardest one to find, the first issue with thin 10.5x2mm wheels".
The third photo and comments states "Above: The more common issue with wider 11x4mm wheels but in a rare F type box without "Superfast".
The table at the bottom of the page has no reference to 11mm wheels?
I have also measured the wheels on the 2 models I have in listed in this thread with a verniure, but none of the measurements listed on this site meet-up?
Any ideas?
Don't want to dis anyone, very grateful for any help and advice, but If I'm going to sell, I don't want to be misleading anyone.

Re: Correct Boxes & Price Help
Hi, Regarding the wheel sizes, An in depth guide to Matchbox toys was written in 1983, Unfortunately the author measured all of the wheel sizes in metric and rounded them up or down to the nearest half mm, And that is what we have been using for the last 30 years, But the wheels were actually made using exact fractions of an inch, ie imperial measurements.
So a wheel that measures exactly 7/16th of an inch is now 11.1112mm or 11mm, So none of the wheel measurements are exact.
I blame the common market, darn metric system,
£sd has a nice ring to it too.

A trio of 8e f-boxes. The one in the middle is perhaps the most difficult to obtain. All are highly sought after, even in less than perfect condition.
