Jaffa for Swap

Post by Ewan »

The Jaffa Soopa Coopa with no label is available and open to swap offers if anyone wants it. I am totally aware that the lack of labels and paint wear doesn't exactly make it worth a fortune so I don't expect much, a decent model from my huge list of common RW or SF wants will be fine - it belongs with someone who will appreciate it more than me :D

32 views and not even a nibble - I guess the lack of labels is a problem?
When I say I'm lacking common models I really mean it - I don't have any F5000 or Team Matchboxes in any colour :!:

Ewan, i think the overall condition is not the best. If i were you i would put this into a job lot on e bay with some other beaters, Just my thoughts.

Thanks for that motorman, I think that's what I'll be doing, I need another wee clear out. I was looking on ebay a couple of days ago and there was a lot consisting of 5 of them, with another couple of Tyre Fryers and all in a similar condition.

I have noticed that when a model, variation or similar is discussed on the forum, similar ones do seem to appear on ebay soon afterwards sometimes. I'm not sure whether it's a false perception by me because it's fresh in my mind or whether it's lurkers and lookers spotting an opportunity having read the topics.

John,
I see the same thing every time I get a new real car. Suddenly every stop light has one. I think it has to do with our breifly increased perception of an item.

I do know that discussing a particular Regular Wheel casting here does raise both the interest and the E Bay prices on that particular model for a period of time. I think in our discussions here, everyone discovers certain variations they never thought important, so we all tend to want to 'fill those gaps'. It sounds absurd, but I have participated with excitement in raising prices on 'commons' that may have a newly discovered detail I have missed. Once we find 'OURS', we move on to other wants, but may pick up a spare at a cheap price if we later notice another identical 'sleeper' for sale.
Put that Soopa in your Store Ewan, give it a few months to sell, if not then you can pass it off in a lot. The collectors here are very developed, but a beginner will be excited at finding a 'Filler' one day. You will both smile.......kwakers

Thanks for the advice guys, it's much appreciated. I'm also glad to know that I'm not the only one who has noticed an increase in 'activity' on certain models after they've been mentioned here, I thought it was maybe my imagination!
