The VBD auction site is no more

Post by nickjones »

I had to take down the VBD auction site as Hostgator said there was a problem with it, Apparently every time someone looked at a page it was creating a new page to show them that particular item, There were so many pages that google bot and bing bot were more or less constantly scanning the site causing the site to run slow.
Hostgator could not suggest a way to resolve the problem so my easiest way to get round it was simply delete the auction site which took nearly 20 minutes as there were some 20 million pages to be deleted (!!!)

pmsl.
In answer to your question posted elsewhere Alex, re Falkirk. I'm not sure what I am doing because first I am waiting to go in and have my other knee replaced and secondly I am trying to make a start on the Matchbox book as I don't want it to drag out for months and months. I would like to come up and see the grandkids & do Falkirk but I will know more once I have a date for my op.

Nick - Sad to hear about the Auction Site, especially with all the work you put into it to get up and running.
I appreciate the items that I won there and thanks those who listed on the site.

You will get cramp in the hand from writing now Nick. I'll miss the auction as I got some good bits from you on there. You should have got Nik (Racingfreak) to check it out for you as he is a wiz at auction sites on psp. Mine is still running well with no problems at all and same software as yours I think since he sorted it all..

Same from me as well.....I am particularly fond of my Moko BRS truck as I had one of these when I was in a foster home back in 1956 and used to sleep with it.....What a fabulous and realistic toy for a 6 year old...Cheers.
