SOMEONE DID VERY WELL!!!

Post by motorman »

I had both these job lots in my watch list but missed the end of the auctions due to unforeseen circumstances and didn't get a bid in. Really angry as both lots went for buttons.

I noticed a beauty in each listing which stood out amongst the crowd.

I also hope that the seller did not "plant" these 2 models in an attempt to get the bids rolling in and then the buyer finds them missing from the package he receives. No reason to doubt the seller 100% feedback score.

Can you see the 2 i am talking about. It wont be hard i am sure.

I hope some members here were the successful bidders for. each listing and provide images of the two HTF's for us all to drool at and kick ourselves for missing out

Well done Peter, as i said it wasn't hard, now if that RW#8 is genuine then who ever won this listing for £21 will be one very lucky bidder!

I am so angry i missed out. However my daughter nearly knocked herself out walking into a door and when her forehead grew a melon sized lump on it i had to drop everything and take her to hospital missing the end of the auction.

She's ok by the way :D :D but her timing is utter shit!! :( :(

Sorry ya missed out Alex..wasn't me who won..I wasn't even in the bidding ;)
but know the frustration of not being successful.. theres always next time though and there will be a next time. :)
Glad that your daughter is alright, that's what's most important.

only worry I would have is the minty look to that #8 when the rest show signs of playwear :!: :!:

Yes, the seller did well getting rid of 1 lot of gunge with orange #8 Mustang looks like a good repaint to me - the wear to the hubs is not consistent with mint paintwork and the paint itself is far too thick on top of the bumper to match Lesney spray patterns.
#22 Pontiac looks genuine as does orange #20 Range rover however emerald green #45 Group 6 looks like another good repaint to my eyes so 2nd lot went for fair value.

Thanks Mick,

That #8 does look very fresh but i would gladly have paid £21 to get it in my hand.....just incase it is the genuine article. My main concern is that it seems out of place with everything else in that particular lot and does smack a little of having been placed there to raise the bidding, so in that case your comments may have some foundation.

The Pontiac in the second lot does look very good and again the whole lot went very cheaply.

You should have taken a gamble Al, I know if I see it I would have done. Wouldn't surprise me if it's real.

Try find a mint or near mint RW Mustang with damage to chrome on 2 hubs, not easy unless you make the damage yourself! Also not easy to find a factory paint mustang without the gray shadow under the grill on top of the bumper because of the way the bodies were hung for painting puts a much thinner coat of paint in that crack than on the rest of the body but not when resprayed at home! It looks like a collection filler repaint being disposed of......

The seller has a lot of feedback for selling individual matchbox, many quite nice ones too, so to sell a potential gem in this way doesn't stack up. Very fresh orange looking paint too.
