A convention in Georgia?

Has anyone heard about a gathering taking place in Georgia (USA)? A Hot Wheels friend of mine (don't judge, more Matchbox for me) mentioned it.

If you are talking about the mcch mini gathering that was limited to 40 people and members only ... it died before it even got planned (like it has every year since Curtis abandoned the real gathering).

There has been no more signs of life from this after the first few announcements a few months ago - so you'd better keep saving money for Jim G.'s Gathering in Albuquerque, NM (July 18 - July 20).
His convention is taking place, that's for sure!

Not only are there no signs of the so called gathering but the fund raising bus which have been paid for by MCCH members have mysteriously not appeared either and it is now to late to open a Pay Pal claim. Two moderators are now having words with each other in the public domain.

Too bad as it would have been close enough for me to drive. I have family in Alb. so there really is little excuse for me to have never been to a gathering.

I bet nobody within rifle range is still out of pocket or missing a bus
Convention would have a been a funded profitable idea if they had been able to sell more than 20 wun dolla buses with christmas cracker stickers for $23 (and booked in at McDonalds) !

That fellow has become the laughing stock of the web/hobby. Although many are not laughing as they "donated" good money for something it seems they may never receive. I'm so tired of seeing him announce a rival gathering every year only for people to realize he's just talking out of his back side every time. He just needs to go away and stop being a blight on the hobby and darn sure time for him to stop collecting "donations" for his for-profit business.

The Georgia event never saw the light of day and most likely will never happen as MC is not responding to those who pay his dues and he has other financial issues. Finally, he is fighting with others about his so called fund raiser and many are getting restless. I think you should come visit your family. LOL. The Albuquerque (Real) Gathering is on and scheduled for 18-20 July. Email me and I will send you a registration form. It is a fun place to share Matchbox and yes (Hot Wheels and all other brands) with friends. Everyone is welcome here.

Jim,
I have heard many wonderful things about your gathering. It is a dream for me, and probably most other collectors to attend. Perhaps this will be the year. I will send you an email for a registration form.
Thanks, Chris
