Unlisted version of 16c Scammell Snowplow

Post by joembox »

Hello,

I have a variation which I did not see listed in your table listing.
The scammell has Black Plastic wheels, red/white stripes with the hole present
and Open steps on both the left and right side.

I can furnish some pictures if requested... Thanks, Joe

Welcome to the forum Joembox.

It is imperative when you are looking for feedback on a particular model to include as many images as you can, preferably in daylight without the use of a flash. We need full model shots and close ups of any oddities, Rivets and axel ends also require to have good clear close up images. I set my image size to 500 x 300 pixels using Paint editing software with great results. Many other use Photobucket for their uploads.

Happy posting and dont worry if you make a mistake with an image upload you can always edit it afterwards.

Hello, I recently noticed a post of the same question I had concerning the 16 C Scammell having a hole in the bottom cab along with right and left open steps. A while ago, I was asked to post pictures and did however did not see any reply. Just curious if No Reply was indicative to the belief it was altered or just a case of too many responses to respond to which is understandable since we all have other items to attend to in our lives aside from our collecting addictions... Thanks, Joe

Hello Joe,

I am guessing your request for photos was then overlooked but the good news is that at least two other forum members have in the past shown the same open step both sides with hole in the base 16c previously but quite some time apart.
There is currently one shown in Georges casting show 16 and this was presented by BradPittiful Dan.(See Dan's 4th photo). If my memory serves me correctly Diecast Antonin also presented this model on the previous forum some years ago.

The question then needs to be asked if the one from Dan and the one from Antonin have the same colour decal as the one you have to make it easy for Nick to add to his listing given three actual examples of this unlisted casting are known.
Perhaps if Antonin and Dan read this they can confirm the decal colours of theirs if they have them handy.

The 16c Snow Plough is one of my favourite models but the open step both sides with base hole has eluded me. Thank you for showing your model.

I hope that by grouping this information it helps Joe.

Hello Joe, sometimes a model is shown on the forum that eludes so many collectors they can not comment on it, they don't have it, so far from ignoring anything posted by you personally, you can be certain there will be many forum members looking at your post or requests, but simply can not think of anything to say, so please don't feel negleted by the lack of responce to something you posted.

When members have examples of a 'Hard to Find' model and somebody posts one on the forum with a comment, other members are then all over it with their own observations, you may have seen this happening with other models here on the forum, just the way it can go.

Hi,

I have, according to this model, a question to Nick´s list.
No that this model is shown here and two others are known how does it find his way in Nick´s list?
I had the same with my Wiking-models.
The author of the most detailed list in the net does only list models that he held in his hands and is confident about the originality of the model.
Is it the same here?

nick generally trusts people who are very experienced collectors and showing pictures he then waits for other examples to surface...not sure of the number of models he needs to know of before adding them to the model variation chart though
